OUWR designed the stage costumes for the global dance group 'Jam Republic,' which were worn for the traditional culture media promotional video wall at Incheon International Airport’s arrival hall. The video features choreography and stage costumes that reinterpret traditional Korean elements such as the Hakmu (traditional dance) and Buchaechum (fan dance), set to music based on Korean traditional instruments. The costumes were created with Jam Republic’s team colors of pink and traditional ogansaeg colors as the base, incorporating modern interpretations of traditional elements: 1) the Dangui and Full Chima from traditional Buchaechum hanbok, 2) the Hongrasang Chima and Galrae Chima from Mubok attire, and 3) the Suboro Chima, the final garment worn by royal queens.
The promotional content for the 'Traditional Culture Media Wall,' produced by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the National Palace Museum of Korea, and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, was conceived to showcase Korea’s heritage. The video highlights four main themes: Heritage, Culture, Food, and Nature, presenting a diverse and beautiful image of Korea to both domestic and international visitors. We hope all travelers passing through the arrival hall of Incheon International Airport’s Terminal 1 will experience a fresh perspective on Korea’s cultural richness through this media wall content.
