DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE
7On July 4th, during the press conference for the film Deadpool & Wolverine in South Korea, actors Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy were presented with a special surprise of custom hanbok designed by OUWR in collaboration with Geumdanje.
The dapho (搭胡), a traditional men's ceremonial garment, was historically worn as official attire or military uniform during the Joseon Dynasty. Initially featuring short sleeves, its design evolved into a sleeveless vest-like form. Drawing inspiration from the exceptional combat skills of the Marvel heroes Deadpool and Wolverine, the garments were designed to incorporate elements of the dapho. The key design motif integrates the signature colors of Deadpool and Wolverine, red and yellow, and with OUWR’s distinctive dancheong-inspired Guleum Ggot (Cloud Flower) pattern. The garments feature a structured collar and extended side slits for ease of movement and functionality, including convenient pocket access. Unlike a traditional hanbok set, these pieces were designed to be layered with contemporary clothing, offering versatility in styling.
Through this special gift, we hope that Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy had a meaningful and enjoyable experience in Korea.
